Free Coffee Morning Piano Recital at St Margaret's Church, Whalley Range — Saturday 6 June 2026.
The recital forms the centrepiece of a community Coffee Morning at the historic St Margaret's Church, offering a welcoming and informal setting for both seasoned concert-goers and those new to classical music. Attendees are invited to arrive from 10.30am, enjoy refreshments, and settle in for a programme of extraordinary breadth and virtuosity.
Wu Ningxi has curated a programme spanning three centuries of piano literature:
Scriabin: 12 Études Op. 8 — No. 11 Chopin: Polonaise and Nocturne Bach: English Suite Prelude and Partita Toccata Opening with the intense, storm-driven energy of Scriabin's Étude Op. 8 No. 11, the programme moves into the deeply Romantic world of Chopin before culminating in the architectural grandeur of Bach — a journey through music that is both intellectually thrilling and emotionally compelling.
