The recital forms the centrepiece of a community Coffee Morning at the historic St Margaret's Church, offering a welcoming and informal setting for both seasoned concert-goers and those new to classical music. Attendees are invited to arrive from 10.30am, enjoy refreshments, and settle in for a programme of extraordinary breadth and virtuosity. Wu Ningxi has curated a programme spanning three centuries of piano literature: Scriabin: 12 Études Op. 8 — No. 11 Chopin: Polonaise and Nocturne Bach: English Suite Prelude and Partita Toccata Opening with the intense, storm-driven energy of Scriabin's Étude Op. 8 No. 11, the programme moves into the deeply Romantic world of Chopin before culminating in the architectural grandeur of Bach — a journey through music that is both intellectually thrilling and emotionally compelling. About Wu Ningxi : Wu Ningxi is a rising star of the international piano world, having studied at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire under the distinguished tutelage of Pascal Nemirovski and Mikhail Kazakevich. He is the First Prize winner (Bach Group) at the 2022 Singapore International Piano Competition, and a two-time finalist in the prestigious Shenzhen Piano Open Competition. A soloist of considerable standing, Wu Ningxi has appeared with both the Macau and Guangzhou Baroque Orchestras, and notably participated in the Asian premiere of Bach's Coffee Cantata, making his appearance at this Coffee Morning all the more fitting.
