Programme Note
The Chiaroscuro Quartet are an international ensemble that perform music from the classical and early romantic periods (on gut strings and historical bows!) Thier growing discography includes Beethoven Op.74 and 130, Mozart Prussian Quartets and Haydn Op.33. The ensembles chamber partners include Kristian Bezuidenhout, Trevor Pinnock, Jonathan Cohen, Nicolas Baldeyrou, Chen Halevi, Malcolm Bilson, Matthew Hunt, Christian Poltera, Cédric Tiberghien and Christophe Coin.
The ensemble recently toured Japan and the US, and performed in Konzerthaus Vienna, as well as at the Edinburgh International Festival, Berlin Pierre Boulez Saal, Beethoven Hous Bonn and Salzburg Mozarteum.
