Programme Note

This relationship is addressed through an interweaving of music for voice and lute, with discussion on topics ranging from Sappho to women’s solidarity.

The programme includes music by Barbara StrozziFrancesca Caccini and Claudia Sessa, with poetry from Nossis to Carol Ann Duffy, and features a new setting of the Eurydice myth as a rebuttal or ‘anti-lament’, by Master of the King’s Music Errollyn Wallen.
